You May Want To Avoid 7th Street Between Wallace & Indiana In CDA

Work to replace sewer lines on 7th Street between Wallace and Indiana avenues is apparently having an impact on traffic. You may want to find another way to get around that area, as the City of Coeur d'Alene says that work will continue for the next two weeks.

Drivers in that area can expect delays due to detours, and the closure of 7th Street for short periods of time, until May 5th.

Because, of course, in our region, there's no other way to repair a sewer line than to close down an entire street for two weeks...

It won't actually be closed down the entire two weeks. I've been assured it's just for short periods of time throughout those two weeks. That was the lesser of the two evils when it came to choosing how to proceed with this project apparently.

Kootenai Metropolitan Planning Organization (KMPO) is the Metropolitan Planning Organization for Kootenai County, Idaho. Federal law requires urbanized areas with populations exceeding 50,000 people to have an MPO. KMPO was formed in 2003, to provide coordinated transportation planning within Kootenai county for the public, cities, small towns, the county, the state, transit providers, and the Coeur d'Alene tribe.

KMPO's Board of Directors oversees KMPO for Kootenai County, ID. KMPO's Executive Director and Staff are responsible for day-to-day operational and administrative needs.
