Gas Station Owner Wants To Prosecute Drivers Who Got Cheap Gas

A couple of drivers in Athol got off cheap the other night- or maybe not because now the law is looking for them. A malfunction at a gas pump at the Cydco Food and Fuel caused some people to only be charged one cent per gallon for a couple of hours in the middle of the night. Four people got cheap gas. Two showed up during the day to pay the difference and two didn't. Now the owner of the gas station wants to press charges against the two that didn't.

Here's the story from KREM 2 News.

I have a hard time believing the two drivers who didn't pay the difference can be prosecuted for this. What's your opinion? Should they be charged with petty theft or was it one of those incidents of being in the right place at the right time and the gas station owner should just suck it up?
