It won't be open for the holiday weekend but the Route of the Hiawatha trail is scheduled to open for the season on May 30.
Lingering snow patches on the trail is causing it to open later than planned. The 15-mile bike route follows the old Milwaukee Railroad grade along the Montana-Idaho border near Lookout Pass.
